<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">You nailed it. My huntin' partner and I went there a few years back...arrived friday evening in time for the DU barbeque...but after seeing the crowds and looking over our fellow hunters, we left and went on over to the Warner Valley. I can still remember one group of three there at Summer Lk, definitely "Portland hunters", all 3 wearing ball caps emblazened with "**** Happens". Not around me it doesn't, if I can help it. While the lakes were full, we didn't get limits over at Warner...we got a few, I think...but we didn't have to worry about being strafed and we didn't have any skybusters nearby.
Does not look good for the Warner Lakes this year...was over there 3 weeks ago...drought still in full force & effect. Lakes either dried up or reduced to shallow pans with 100 yds of bare alkali between water's edge and any cover.
I still hunt Summer Lk occasionally but not on opening weekend.
