Did the family camping trip over at Nehalem last week and as stated the fishing was slow (crabbing was good). I'd just hear about a couple fish caught most days. However, a fresh squirt of fish came in Thursday and there was a nice Friday AM bite just above Nehalem and my 13 year old daughter, who I had to drag out of her sleeping bag for her only morning fishing (teenagers

) got this bright 20lb hen on our first pass.

Heard or saw of about a dozen caught there that morning. Sounds like another squirt of fish came in on Sunday. If you're fishing near Nehalem and Wheeler and if the trolling isn't panning out, take a bobber rod and some eggs/shrimp and head upriver. You'll find fish rolling in that upper tidewater. That's where I was heading when we were waylaid.
