range finders
What's the best deal out there on laser range finders, the 800 or 1000 foot models for rifle hunting, not that i'm going to even think about attempting that range!

Re: range finders
I'm not sure for the ranges your looking for, but i use a bushnell yardage pro. It seems to work great for bow hunting. Good luck..

Re: range finders
I have the bushnell 800 compact would not get a smaller one. I did have it give me a reading of 972 yards on a stump a cross a canyon, that is a little far for my 300 ultra mag

Re: range finders
Get the bushnell yardage pro 800 compact. Great unit. Buy it on ebay. You won't be dissappointed.

Re: range finders
Don't forget to check the pawn shops and ebay for a great deal on one. My buddy picked up a yardage pro 800 for ~$60.

Re: range finders
I also have the bushnell yardage pro and love it. It fits in my front pocket and stays out of the way until I need it. Technology these days is unreal~!

Re: range finders
I have the Nikon 800, works fine. It looks the exact same as the bushnell 800 on the outside
I paid about $300 for it.

Re: range finders
What do you guys use the range finder for? It seems like an expensive toy, perhaps useful only for long-range shots of over 300 yards

Re: range finders
I use mine mostly for bowhunting, but it is nice when you zero your rifle in and you want to know for sure what it does out there farther. I guess if you shoot at a range you don't need it but I don't so I like having it. Also fun to go shooting with the buddies and setup jugs out there 800 yards away and see who can hit em first. Buy one you'll see what its for.
