Default Hardcore Ifish Ready Set...

If you're on Ifish this late on a Saturday night, either bleary eyed from a day of fishing today or too amped up about fishing tomorrow to go to bed, then you deserve a Ready, Set. Pat yourself on the back: you're hardcore.

The prize: some Mustad hooks (I'll leave it up to Jennie to decide what size and how many to send you).

The question: for what two species did Mustad originally design the circle hook?

The disclaimers: well, there aren't any.

Um, that's not what I'm looking at on the Mustad site. If you're seeing something different, please show your work.

amp, I've been googling mustad for 10 minutes now and can't find the answer. I threw those species up there because they were the first one I could find under circle hooks. Unfortunately after reading, those were some of the "bycatch" species that the hooks were intending to make it easier to release . I can't for the life of me find the species they were actually designed to "catch" although I think there were sought after by Austrailians...

OK, how about turtles and sea-birds??

If Google is legal and acurate, then the answer is Coalfish and Pollack. Yeah, I fish them all the time in the Skipanon. Above the tide gate. At night. When I ain't ifishin'.

http://www.mustad.no/action/fishing_...ech_nymph1.htm

The reason it was hard to find is because absolutely nobody wants to click a link to "no/action/fishing"! But I'm getting used to it.

I'd of had a better chance catching a tuna above the willamette falls than finding that tidbit by browsing the website. Nice find...

And Tyboo wins!! I have no idea what sort of hooks Jennie is going to send you but I hope you like them. PM me your details and I'll forward them to Jennie for shipping.

Thanks for playing! And remember: you never know when a Ready Set will strike.
