Draw question

I put in for a draw in Eastern Oregon this year for the first time (Pine Creek & Lookout Mtn). If I don't get it this year, I acrue points for the next year right ?
I was even on a party this year and didn't get it. Oh well, I have a baby on the way during that time, I guess it would have been hard to convince my wife to let me hunt.

<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helv">Did you mean that others in the same party got their tags and you didn't. If so, then there was a problem. The problem was either with your tag application or ODFW messed up and didn't include you in the party. If the party leader was drawn then everyone in that party would recieve a tag if all the paperwork was filled out correctly.

Pan Fry...as northriver1 pointed out,yes you accumulate one preference point for each year that you don't draw your FIRST hunt choice.

So if you are "lucky" enough to get your second choice, you get another point and you still get to go hunting.

In years where you know that you won't be able to hunt during your preferred choice, you can also apply for a Point Saver. A Point Saver allows you to earn another preference point, without the possibility of drawing. That way you don't risk getting drawn (loosing your preference points) and then not being able to go. You can apply for a point saver in almost any of the hunt series, but you can only apply once every other year for the same hunt series (ex: deer). You can also apply for more than one hunt series (100,200, 400) with point savers in the same year.
