Default Launch ramp fee`s.

In Thursdays News-Register, a $3.00 ramp fee at Roger`s Landing in Newberg. Not paying the fee can cost you $60.00. Offering the citing officer a beer is considered bribery. Are there fee`s at all the other ramps? Ff

Years ago when they started licensing boats the arguement was that the license fee would be used to build and maintain launching sites. Charging a launching fee is another way to gouge the boater.
Rainer charges $2.00 dollars for launching your boat at their new launch site.
Good Luck

$3.00 would be nice. All the launches I use on the north side of the river charge $5.00 .

Cathedral Park in St Johns is one of the last Free launches but not for long. The city intends to make improvements and charge of fee. Lots of boaters from the westside take advantage of it coming from german town road.

I can understand the fee for new and improved ramps like Rogers landing, but what about the old ones that have drop offs at the bottom of the ramp and other problems? Maybe the powers that be are trying to save up enough to rebuild or some other improvements? If you put in at one ramp and take out at another, do you have to pay at both? Just curious. I`m sticking to my innertube. I can launch that anywhere! Ff

Improvements to Cahtedral park would be welcomed. The docks are nothing more than paint and finish removers. A few bucks is not a big deal as long as it goes to maintenance. The folks that use a facility like that should be the ones to pay for it.

The sad part is that in addition to general fund revenue spent by the City of Portland on parks, the City has also floated about $100 million of bonds for parks improvement and deferred maintenance. I think we've paid for a well maintained facility over and over again ... but I guess we get to pay again.

I often wonder how much of the supposedly allotted money actually goes into the upkeep on these facilities? It seems that there is a lot of bucks being generated, but where do it all go? Fishbob.
