Default Boat accident at Astoria? (Closed)

Was on the phone this afternoon with the radio going in the background and thought I heard something of an accident around buoy 10. Hope I'm wrong. Anybody heard anything?
All this excitement brings the need to be extra cautious.

KATU had a blurb on it. Father and son. Dad didn't make it. It sounded like the life jacket didn't fit.

Hey all, I have worked for alot of years as a whitewater guide here in Idaho. Which means lotsa time spent in a life jacket... Northwest River Supply http://www.nrsweb.com/ has a variety of low profile yet high flotation life jackets that allow for range of motion without getting in the way. They cost a bit more, but you can wear them all the time and feel like you don't even have one on. Plus they are fully adjustable to any size and they make female specific jackets as well. Just a thought. My prayers go out to the family...

Both did NOT have life jackets at the time of the swamping. We should all wear our life jackets & most of all, it should be our responsibility to make sure they fit properly.

Quote: "The father and son were not wearing lifejackets at the time the vessel became swamped but did manage to don lifejackets before their boat capsized. The father's lifejacket was too tight and was cut before going into the water in an attempt to make it fit better."

Our prayers will be with the family.
