Desert Eagle IMI or USA?
I am going to get a .50 AE, I was wondering if I should get the IMI or the USA version?

I am not sure, both are Magnum research, one is build in Israel, Israel Military Industry (IMI) and one is built in the US, not sure what the difference is between the too, I was hoping some one on Ifish would.

Re: Desert Eagle IMI or USA?
I have an IMI baby eagle... Its .40 cal, and I have found its a deadly accurate little gun. the only handgun I like better is the glock chambered in .357sig!!!
The quality of the IMI I have is great, its built with quality parts and put together well.
I hope that helps....If I had a gun the size of a .50 I would put my eye out....

They are big fun for jack-rabbit shooting, we call it "Bowling for Bunnies."

Yes, I remember that shoot, and I remember the muzzel blast from that monster as it made me flinch every time it went off. I guess you just needed the extra advantage to beat me and my 10mm that day. I guess I may have to get me a .50 Desert and call for a rematch.

Re: Desert Eagle IMI or USA?
Just a little tip , for what it is worth why are you getting a .50 cal, shells are hard to come by, you can hear wind whistle through a .41 cal or a .45 cal just as good. Take this from a fella who has some kills to his Viet Nam sniper days. USA makes guns to sell and shoot with. Israel makes guns to ..Kill people...both are great weapons but IML has just a little more fine tunning in their product.

I have already got a Sig 229 .40 S&W, and a S&W model 19 .357; Reason for getting a D.E. .50 is just to own one.
