Default Doves?!!

Wow...there's TOO MANY things all coming together on Sept. 1st!

But Doves have always been part of that day.

So, has anyone seen any decent concentrations of them anywhere around the state?

I sure wish I could find some closer to home (Tualatin Valley area), but so far really haven't found any numbers...

I have some spots over around Pendleton that are always pretty good.

And in the past have had some "hot spots" around Wamic and Tygh Valley, but those haven't been that good in the recent past years.

Anybody care to share an area?

Any places in Central or S.E. Ore?

I saw two at EE Wilson today. Two.

If for no other reason than to be able to get the dog and the shotgun out at the same time, I'm going to go someplace.

Wait...in fear of giving away my "secret spot," I also saw one quail. That's three! Who ever heard of ONE quail, anyway?!?

Oh yes...and we HOPE the fishing gets hot!

Geez...which way to go first?

Hit the hills for Grouse, Deer & Elk w/the bow? (of course!)

Hit some grainfields with the 20 ga. pump in hand and the pooch?

Or hit the river and drop those Chartruese and Silver Wobblers into 48' of water!??

Wow...it's all a BLUR...just rushing up so fast!

It could be WORSE! Imagine sitting in some big skyscraper in some smoggy city, reading a hunting mag and NOT getting to do any of it!

Hey Jon,

That's not a bad idea!

Although personally, I'd like to find a good place somewhere in central Oregon or even over towards the S.E. desert.

I'm thinking of maybe paying the Steens a visit...

Bill,

I realize that you are just looking for a reason to make a trip to the Steens.....because those doves down there are not closer to the Tualitin Valley.....but they are closer to all those quail and chuckars in the Owyhee.
