Default Another Update From Iraq

Just figured I'd pop in and say hi again. Things here are pretty much the same as they have been, except the fact that it cooling off a litte. Seems like July has been the hottest. I think the highest the temp. got was around 145 or so. Now it seems to be staying in the 115 to 125 area. I finally found out when I get to come for leave. Right in the middle of the fall salmon run. I can't wait. Who knows, maybe I'll run into some of you on the rivers. I saw my first Camel Spider the other day. WOW! For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a spider that groes up to 6" and runs faster than.. Heck and can jump too. They are strange looking. The Ifish stickers Jennie sent me are being put to good use. some made it on to hummvees and other's are on lockers. It started out as me telling people what they were and then showing them the sight. A couple even pop in from time to time just to see what's going on. I wish you all could see the posotive things that happen over here. The villager's waving and giving thumbs up when we drive by, the soliers passing out clothes, food, and toys to kids, and all the help we get from the locals as far as finding bad guys and bobms. It's pretty cool. Well I have a patrol to get readt for. Take care all.

Good on ya gator. Remember Camel spiders may look scary, but they aren't venomous.

I hope you enjoy the leave, and maintain good SA on patrols as the time before leave grows shorter. It is sad how the media doesn't show it how it really is out there. Or how professional and compassionate our armed forces really are.

Gator13.

What this country desperatly needs is more good reports like that. All we hear is bad news. It feels good to hear some good coming out of this war.

Thank you

Gator13, Somehow, "thank you" just doesn't seem to be enough. Come home safe! Your parents must be very proud to have a hero in the family.

Great Post and WE'LL SAVE SOME SALMON FOR YOU! Thanks for staying in touch with us and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! NOW COME HOME SAFELY.
We had those creatures(CAMEL SPIDERS) in New Mexico but they are smaller of course. They are called Whip or wind scorpions and they are FAST! They look exactly like those Camel spiders and they also are not venomous but have a nasty bite! We also had 8-9 inch Centipedes too that leave a nasty welt. They are hard to kill too!UUGH!
