Our two day stay in Westport turned out to be a blast, we found the fish to be scattered, but enough action to keep me scrambling with the gear.
we arrived Wednesday evening, and found the fog to be so thick it took us 25 minutes to find our slip,
I recommend getting a map of the marina if your going to put in at night especially in the heavy fog.

Thursday morning we jumped in behind a charter boat the "Tequila Too" and followed him out, two hours later we stopped 22 miles from the dock.
water was 53 degrees and fairly nice but the fog was still heavy with visibility 200 feet at best.

the charter boat soon left the area,
we hung around and in four hours we put 9 fish in the box with the small one being 8 pounds and our large fish at 30 pounds.
Day two was a bit slower fishing with a lot of shakers to deal with.
the fog was even thicker to day with visibility down to 30 feet at times thank god for Radar.
A little goofing off back at camp.

All in all we had a great trip for our first adventure out of Westport on our own boat...... We did have one
run in with a charter boat called the "STEELER" he ran across our bow on the way out Friday morn.
we were in a line of about 6 to 7 other privet boats and he pushed right through us as if to say we don't belong there....
watch out for him if you go out there, he has a bad attitude.
