Default Paintball

Anyone on here play it?? I'm sure theres someone.

I've never played but am interested and found a site that lists all the fields in WA. I've got a couple questions though so I don't look like to much of a newb on the paintball boards, LOL.

How much does a "decent" gun cost?? I've seen them anywhere from $80 to $1400.

Is the average rental gun decent??

Decent, exceptional, petunias, the cost of gun doesn't matter what's going to eat you alive is paint.

Never played it and never will. But I know people that do. They spent around $700 for thier guns. I was told I should buy my own gun if I was going to play. I would reccommend renting before spending any cash on an expensive gun.

They also have fancy face masks and other goodies they need. They carry everything around in a case. I was told that the paint can get spendy. Sometimes $80 for a day if they play at one of the pay places. I guess you have to buy thier paintballs and can't bring your own. When they play in the woods on private property they save $$ on the paintballs because they can use thier own.

Paintball guns are great for getting the neighbors cat out of your yard. Then again my lab does a good job of that too.

They also work good on the neighbor's dogs, too.

I used to play years and years ago. Really fun stuff....like playing "Army" when you were a kid.

What I found to be the best tip for survival.....If you think you're gonna get shot....run like the devil, and make yourself a hard to hit moving target.

My son plays. We bought him his first gun, it was a Tipman 98. We bought it along with some safety equipment for aroud $200.00. Many of the paint guns can be upgraded with faster triggers, feeders and barrels. At the commercial fields you do have to use their paint but they provide safety judges, refs and they orginize the events. If you are going to get into it, dont buy a cheep gun, you wont have a chance against the other players. Tipman makes a good gun at a reasonable price. Have fun and no wiping.

I played competitve paintball for many years. The guns now days run off compressed air in 4500# tanks. The top guns are electro-pnuematic and flat out shoot paint. Very few quality guns come with full auto as it isnt legal for tournament play but we can get upwards around 20 balls per second with semi auto. Walmart sells guns that say they are full auto and this and that. The guns may cycle at full auto but they end up chopping paint in the gun and creates a huge mess. that is where you can divide good guns to bad guns. If you are just playing up in the woods there are few guns I would recommend. Most guns you see at walmart etc are junk and will give you nothing but problems. If you are even remotely interested in playing fairly oten I would look into getting decent stuff. Just as in everything else, you get what you pay for. There are like 3 different levels of guns out there $99-$300 which is crap and will give you nothing but problems and have u outgunned when playing. $300-$700 range there are some very decent guns that will let you hold your own and then there are the $700-$1800 guns that we use for tournaments. I havent a clue what u are looking for but being as I played for the last 8 years I know a thing or 2, PM me with any questions. Here are the 2 guns I was shooting last year.
