Fished the St. Helens area Friday with a dozen other boats and saw four Chinooks caught and one lost to a broken hook. Most of the boats were above us so I may have missed a fish, or two.
One of the fish caught weighed close to 50 lbs. The guy was fishing solo and did a superb job with a standard size net, which really looked small. Scooped it up on the first go around. He landed it just below us and held it up (took both hands) for us to see. It looked like a bright Tule as it had more girth than you usually see with an URB. Maybe not quite as bright as an URB, but close. Hard to tell for sure. A HOG nonetheless!!!
