Anyone know of any pistol or rifle ranges in our around the Astoria area? Are there any ranges real close by on the Washington side?
Gonna have to have a place to shoot this summer or am gonna lose it!
There is one range east of Astoria about 15 miles in the little community of Knappa. I believe it is on Gun club road last I knew. I am not sure how much it is used. Most people just go into the woods and start shooting trees and stuff :grin:
Kingfisher - Clear cuts are the safest and best places to shoot locally. They have big old growth stumps to hang targets on. Please don't shoot live trees, as it degrades their timber value and endangers wood product workers' health and equipment. Make sure you are shooting into a hill for a backstop. Pick cuts that are at dead ends of logging roads. Bring a rangefinder and set up different targets at various distances.....instant gun range! Make sure to bring multiple pieces for barrel cool down time.
