Default Hammond Not So Hot

Fished the last two days at Hammond. Stayed upstream of B-10.

First day fished two boats, including one crew with a top Ifish guide. Saw a total (between both boats) of about 5 nets flying for maybe 400 boats.

This morning we fished again in our boat. Saw no nets flying for perhaps 150 boats.

The guys fishing outside caught a few, mostly south of the CR buoy.

Ick. :depressed:

I will absolutly second what thumper has to say. We fished below the bridge on tuesday thru thursday and say a grand total of six nets flying out of hundreds of boats.

I was at FMS at lunch and the parking lot was packed! Me thinks there are going to be a lot of people at B10 next week.

Just fished the last 5-days (Mon.-Fri.) @ Hammond and it's dead, dead, DEAD !!!

Monday- I was the hot boat with 1-Chinook in the box and 1-lost at the boat (rookie fisherman on a 1st time trip on the rod).

Tuesday-Went outside in the ocean....3-Coho in the box, several high-finners released.

Wednesday-Fished Astoria bridge to Hammond from 9:00-4:00 no bites saw three nets fly all day.

Thursday-2-Coho hooked & released 1-too many fins. Saw maybe 4-fish hooked all day.

Friday- Trolled Bridge to Hammond saw maybe 3-nets fly all day slow, slow, slow, 1-sea lion tearing up a salmon on the green line mid-day.

Don't be in a big hurry to get down here (drive safe) you're not missing a thing. I'm on a 2-week vacation and if things don't pick-up pretty quick I'm heading home to do something constructive,

I was out there today. Fished around the Hammond area. Saw two nets fly. Heard a bit of chatter that a *few* were picked up outside.

Not hot at all.

I can attest to the poor fishing, I was there today, got launched at 6 AM, went out towards sawdust piles, realized that fog scares me and my 18ft open sled, GPS'd back in to hammond cause i couldnt see a darn thing. Ate some biscuits and gravy from the snack shack at the boat ramp (pretty good by the way) Went back out when the fog started to thin at around 10:30 fished hard at all the usual spots till 3:30, hooked and lost one fish at the church.
Long day for no fish.
Hopefully it will get better for you guys, Im off to santa cruz for 5 days for some Tuna fishin!!!

With my limited B10 experience, this is very reminiscent of 2003. Late run. Half way into the third week in August and KAPOW! GAME ON!!!! Like turning on a switch. Keep the faith......

Yup, pretty bad because of the fog. Good to see a few Ifishers, though. Nada on the boat I was on.... :depressed:
