Grizzly Unit Elk?

After pouring through the Oregon Tag Guide, we've settled on the Grizzly unit for Elk. Having given up all my prefernece points last year for the Ochocos, it looks like Grizzly is a safe bet: not much public land, but not a ton of applicants. It appears the only public land is in the west Ochoco mtns. north of Prineville. I'm hungry for any information on the unit and what to expect. Or a suggestion to hurry up and revise my preferences. Can you help me?

I just went and scouted part of the Grizzly unit last Sunday. Was told there are some elk in the part we looked at but wouldnt burn an elk tag trying to hunt the part we looked at.

I think I would concentrate in the west ochoccos like you mentioned if I hunted that unit.
