Have you checked out the ODFW website info? They also offer an independant study option.

I did the independant study with my son. I'm a much tougher instructor than most of them We took the test at Tri County gun club. Tri County had a really good setup including a shooting range. I would recomend them if you can swing it.

My son took the independent study as well. The state wouldn't seem to put a class in St.Helens or Scappoose, despite constant promises to. We had to go down to Albany to take the test, but it all worked out good.

Don't forget...they are always looking for qualified volunteers to teach the next generation hunting safety and ethics. If there isn't a HS class in your area, volunteer to take the test and help your neighborhood out.

I just happen to work in the office that includes the Hunter Safety program. It sounds like the Home Study option would work best for you. Call 503-872-5264 ext. 5528 and we'll send you the packet. After you complete the packet, you still have to do your evaluation. For a list of evaluation locations, click here.
