Got my Oregon boating Certification.
After reading a post the other day on the subject,
I realized I better get off the pot and take care of this. Nothing ticks me off more than wasting dough on a ticket. Even a warning annoys me.
Stayed late after work last night and took the test. Did the sample test first and scored 76.
So I spent a little time reading through the info and took the 15.00 online test. 92! Good enough for me! There was actually some good stuff that I was a little fuzzy on. Anyway, paid the fees (25.50)
total, printed out a temp card, and I'm good to go. One less things to worry about. Now I can focus on the gators saturday.

Re: Got my Oregon boating Certification.
I hate to tell you this, but there is a FREE on-line test. You just pay $10.00 for the card.

GBS, quit wasting money and spend it on me when we go fishing... I took the free test and paid the 10.00 for the card, at least we are legal now

Re: Got my Oregon boating Certification.
alright, so I'm a bonehead and paid 15 bucks.
I make at least double that in a week, so it's just chump change to me.
Spend money on you airborn. I don't know, I hear you have champagne tastes!

Re: Got my Oregon boating Certification.
Just took the pre-test and got a 78%. Need 80% to pass. Learned alot tho. Will take the test tonight when I get home. Some of the questions seemed a bit silly like why do I need to know that the knick-name of a red channel bouy is called a "nun"? Has anyone heard this term used before on a VHF by the Coast Guard or other officials? Maybe like any test, they have to throw in a few zingers.

GBS - one question - after all that, do you feel like you're a safer boater? Just being cynical.

Re: Got my Oregon boating Certification.
The test at boatus.com is open book, so all you have to do is open up the test in one browser and open up the review in another. Then, just toggle back and forth and look for the answers as you go. There is a heading on each question that helps you locate the answer in the study material. Even a dunce like me was able to pass on the first try!!!

Re: Got my Oregon boating Certification.
tisk tisk blackdog,
My momma always said cheaters never perspire!
I thought about doing that, but figured what the heck, an old dog might as well learn something.
There was no question about nuns either
