The nice thing about shooting the heavier arrow is that they maintain velocity, thus KE, down range. A 400 grain arrow will lose 8.73% of it's velocity at 31 yards and 16.35% @ 61 yards. Compare that to a 600 grain arrow which loses 5.55% @ 31 yards and only 10.32% at 61 yards. If you plan on shooting game at close range and would prefer one pin out to 30 yards, then go to a lighter setup. But if you want pass-throughs at 60 yards, stay with what you are shooting. You can drive yourself nuts if you futz with this too much.

If it's accurate, leave it alone. A well placed shot is better than speed any day. That is a long arrow though, mine are 29" (Carbon) without an overdraw and with a 125gr tip they weigh around 500gr. Of course, you've got plenty of time to play with it before the season.

Come shoot with me sometime. I have a homemade longbow that was made out of rhoderdendron. Smells good and shoots fast!

Quick fisher, a 400-500 grain arrow is worth a try. If you are having success with it please post your results.
thanks...
