Default Which one would you shoot?

You have drawn the tag of a lifetime for shot at a trophy bull. It's the last day of your hunt and the last few hours. You come across two bulls with locked horns. One is a massive 7x7 that would fullfil your dreams of a lifetime bull the other is an avg. 6x6. as you watch the bulls you notice that the 6x6 has what looks to be an ultimately fatal wound in the neck. He is losing blood at a rapid rate. Which bull would you shoot and tag? Why?

I assume the horns are hopelessly locked? If so I would shoot the 7x7. The 6 point is going to die anyway, and chances are the 7x7 would die also. I would report the situation to the proper authorities and explain what happened. Hopefully the extra bull could be doanted to a worthy cause.

Well, shooting either wouldn't leave me w/ much a sense of accomplishment. Thankfully I'll have a better chance of seeing a cougar as I do running across that sort of situation. I'll focus on the cougar.

With precision acuracy I would proceed to shoot the horns off at the base of the 7X7. Two horns could be done in about 6 shots or less. I wouldn't think the pair would have the ability to run off so I would have plenty of time to shoot accurately. Then after the big 7X7 runs off unscathed, I would kill the smaller bull...who wouldn't be going anywher b/c he still all locked up and wounded. Thus I would end up with two sets of horns and a taggd animal...and a sense of accomplishment.

We are dreaming right .

Heck,I'd blast both of them,Clean and quarter them both, call my buddies to help me back them out at night, and have one hell of a mount!!! Plus i'd have elk meat coming out my ears! But,2 days later i'd be in jail,no gun,no truck,no real buddies, and no hunting license for 10 years.Thats what you guys are thinking!!
After reading this and shaking your head,i was joking I truely don't know what i'd do,I'd like to get a trophy elk/deer/antelope but theres more to life like family/friends that last a lifetime.

How about shooting the big one and then calling your buddy to come shoot the other one, if it didn't die by then, but YOU didn't kill it. Really would take the hunt out of hunting though.

I kinda like Jons idea of shooting the horns off, but you might as well hammer the smaller bull first to hold the big one steady.

i think both would be so stressed from the battle they would be inedable.so shooting the horn off one and walking away is the only choice.
