Default TSA Easing restrictions?

I think this is a bad move! OK, not requiring shoe removal is OK, as long as they continue to profile potentials. But allowing knives and other sharp objects in "carry on" is STUPID! When I was flying alot a couple of years ago, I simply put my pocket knife in my check baggage, and retrieved it when I got to the baggage terminal at my destination. No big deal. Terrorists aside, I'd rather not have to wonder what some looney might do. Homeland security is vital to protecting the lives of innocent individuals, regardless of the intent of flight passengers. Coming back from Alaska 12 years ago, I had to quell the rant of some idiot who wouldn't listen to the flight attendant's request to sit down until the plane stopped moving. He sat down when I told him to! I was bigger than her(the flight attendant, and the bonehead), and received an applause from the passengers who witnessed the incident. There's some nut cases out there, and I believe that airport security is essential for the safety of everyone. So you got to get to the airport an hour before your flight to get through it. Big deal! My two cents worth of rant. I don't want to die in a plane crash because someone can't conform to societal norms, or terrorists! Lets Roll!

I flew to Boston a few weeks ago, and had a VERY small pair of scissors in my carry on bag. They noticed them in the XRay machine, and wanted to trash them, have me check my bad, or mail them to myself. I explained that I didnt have time to check the bag or mail the scissors....but they didnt budge. I then explained to them that the scissors went with the tiny comb that I use to keep my sweet goatee in top form for the ladies, and that if I had no scissors then it would get unruly, and that there might be a global riot among the lady-folk, especially in Newport, as their favorite dude would be unkept in appearance. In the end, the scissors went in the trash and I went to Boston. Sorry ladies.

Must be the beginning of election season - lower the restriction - than scare everyone that they world is coming to an end - oh and throw in the rising gas price and how it will magically get lower during 2006/2007

It is amazing how quickly we forget. If they do weeken security and something happens, again, who will we blame? Probably the goverment, TSA, or the airlines, instead of ourselves for the lack of patience and understanding. I would rather be safe then quick. I think you call that complacency. What are they thinking?
