Could anybody tell me how to save my prefence points this year because im not going to have a chance to go? Also is there anyway to gain a point this year even if i dont apply? thank you!
You can apply for a point saver tag. This gives you an additional preference point, but does not make you eligible for any hunt in the year you apply for this type of tag. You cannot apply for a point saver tag however for more than one year in a row for any specific hunt series. Still have to buy a license and controlled hunt application too.
If you applied for a point saver tag for elk, you could still apply that same year for some other controlled hunt outside the elk series (deer for example).
That answers my question, thank you for the response. i will be doing that for conrolled antlerless elk,im not able to hunt it this year due to a fairly full freezer and will just fish this fall.Thanks again,
