I remember when Mike Cameron owned center field as a Mariner. It was hard to hit a ball, other than over the fence, that he couldn't catch.

As bad as this collision was, at least there were no career ending injuries, like broken necks, or blown out knees.

I am really glad that Cammy did not suffer a more severe injury. It was extremely hard to watch the collision. :depressed: It looks like we (Mets and Mets fans) may have lost him for a while though--and Beltran for a bit as well. These guys have grown really close as teammates and friends this season, and I am sure they are all taking this very hard.

Not for the implications in the standings, but at seeing their friends injured in such a way. Both guys are gold glove center fielders and were giving it their all to get a win for the team and for Tom Glavine.

That was the scariest collision I have ever seen--and I have seen that one particular scene from Monday Night Football, 1985, enough times... Washington vs. NY Giants, remember?

Once again, I don't even care that they lost a close game, the important thing is that neither Cammy nor Carlos were paralyzed or even killed in that horrific collision. I know that a lot of you are Mariners fans and hold Cammy in high regard--that is pretty damn cool--he is a great guy and has a way of keeping folks around him smiling.

Exactly! The CF is the captain of the outfield....But sometimes there's those "tweeners" that no one can call until the last second, and then......

Although it was very scary to see, those two guys really earned my respect with their all out hustle!!
