I was looking at them real hard last year and concluded they are not all made equal. I wanted one but didnt want to part with my cash, and it was too close to season to start messing with the bow.

I liked the one that On Target Archery was selling, cant remember the brand though. You layed the arrow in it and you could almost turn the bow upside down and it would still hold the arrow on the rest. Trying to keep a small carbon arrow on a couple little prongs is tough in some situations as you try to draw. I think the bow would tune a lot easier also with the rest out of the way when the arrow was leaving the bow. It just seems to be better by design but havent tried to shoot one.

My dad just bought one and we have to put it on his bow this weekend. So I'll have an opinion by then.

I got one last year and really like it. I got the NAP Quicktune 2000 ~$45, the 4000 is an easy tune version but $80. This one just seemed rugged and simple compared to some of the others.
I always try to keep things simple and not jump on the latest fad but this just made sense that it would be more accurate, and it has a rubber (quiet) "cup" to hold the arrow that is alot more forgiving.
A friend made a comment about my bow being tuned really well because my arrow didn't "wiggle".

I've got the Trophy Taker "shaky hunter" version which is widely regarded as one of the best - it's certainly the most popular. It's about $80 and it shoots great and has big prongs that easily pick up and hold your arrow. They make a target version with smaller prongs. It shoots great on my Mathews Legacy. My advice is to pay the $10 to have it set up properly - they are somewhat complicated to set up and tune and the guys at the bow shops do it very well.

I and everyone I shoot with use a trophy taker fall away rest. They are the best thing to come around since sliced bread. Try www.eaglearchery.com for a good price on them. They used to have free shipping too.

Just checked they still do. The shaky hunter is 64.99 for black and 69.99 for the camo.
I wouldn't hesitate.

decisions decisions. buy internet or buy shop price and have them put it on. nap 2000 65 bucks, nap 4000 98bucks i think. i know its up there, and trophy taker at around upper 80 bucks i believe. all at broken arrow archery. i would like the shop to put it on but at those prices i could probably do it myself. anyone know if those prices include instalation, i forgot to ask. thanks. mike

FF I got my NAP 2000 at Broken Arrow last year for $45 plus a few bucks to put it on. If they raised the price $20 I'd be surprised. If Cabel's sells it for $45 then print a copy of their page and get them to meet the competition's price or call Archer's 503-639-3553 or On Target 503-654-5529.

I would also recommend the Trophy Taker. Mine cost me $100 installed. Excellent rest, improved my groups immediately.

Simple is good for a hunting bow.

I tried the one by Montana gold, the Trap Door.
I liked the fact that it didn' require a string or rubber tube connected to my cables to work properly.

However after using it for 1 month, I went back to
a simple springy prong type rest.
I noticed that in order to it to lock in the up position, my bow had to be perfectly vertically.
Also, if I bump my bow on something, the rest would drop away.

I decide this was too complicated to be useful in a hunting situation.
