Default Kudos to Fishermans Marine !!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight I went to Gi Joe's to buy a new sturgeon rod. The reason I went to joe's was because of the post I had seen for 20% off any one purchase. I asked the sporting goods manager if it was true and he siad yes, but I needed the coupon. I explained to him that I had seen the post about it on Ifish and did not have one he asked me what is Ifish? I told him what it is and explained that they GI Joe's are a sponsor of Ifish. He still had no clue. And this guys is the hunting and fishing goods manager. He still would not honor the discount. So I pulled out my cell phone and called FMS, I asked the person who answered the phone if they would honor the post on Ifish and he said yes. So I left joe's and walked over to FMS and the gates were closed and were letting the last customers out. The guy at the door says that they were closing and asked what i needed. I told him I was there to get a new sturgeon rod, He asked if I knew which one I wanted and i said yes. He let me go in and get the rod I wanted. When I found the rod the sales guy there(getting ready to go home) told me to save my reciept because they were going on sale for the sportsman show and that they had a 30 day price guarantee, so I could come back and get money back if the price was lower than I paid. When I got to the check out stand to pay the girl told me the price and I told her about the post on Ifish the guy standing there (Jason the manager) realized it was I who called told her to give me 20% off. I thanked him and told him that I will forever be a customer of FMS. This was at the Delta Park store. That is what customer service is all about. So that I dont get in trouble here is who I am. Kudos to FMS Delta!! Those guys are great. They hook me up with what I need every time I go in there and ask them for help.

Yesterday was my first time in FMS. Totally a "kid in the candy store" time! So much stuff that I never even knew existed... some of it came home with me. Going back Friday. My wife is very understanding about my obsession, but has already limited my visits. It's for the best; $$$ lasts longer when she's the brains of the outfit. "But honey, there's still at least 4 aisles I haven't checked out yet!"

Spaz, the coupon was good only through last weekend anyways. At least Joe's had an ad to offer their customers. Where's FMS's latest ad? And they were about two weeks late removing their last ads from their website. Not to dis them, as I have had some "limited" decent customer service from them, but I've personally had much better and consistent good service and prices from Joe's.
I guess your mileage may vary.

I'd like to see FMS step up to the plate and do like GI Joe's does and give members of NorthWest Steelheaders a 10% discount. That earned Joe's about 90% of my "outdoor" business last year and FMS got only part of the other 10%.

If a retail clerk or dept. manager honored all of the "I read on the internet", "I heard at the boat ramp.", "I saw at the xxxxx store.", "God told me in my sleep." hot deals that people hear or imagine, they would soon be out of business.

Shame on that retailer for not keeping abreast of the talk on Ifish..........

On the other hand, if the ad was still good, he would have been smart to honor it without the coupon or to have found a coupon to give you.

Jason is one of the reasons I keep going back to FMS at Delta Park. If I ever have any problems with anything I buy he'll make it right. Most of the time FMS has everything I need in stalk which is nice. I can't say that for GI Joes. Every time I go in there for something they are either out of stock or they don't carry it. The only bad thing I can say about FMS is they need to get some good help there. They go through sales clerks like there's no tomorrow. I'm probably going to make a trip over to Sportsman's warehouse to see what all the buzz is about just to make sure I'm not missing something.
