what kind of bow do you shoot?
I shoot a Merlin storm from England. It is set at 67lbs and I am shoot 24" gold tips right around 290 fps. I just bought my father in law a clearwater storm from ebay for 149.00. This is a 33" axel to axel bow, solo cam, split limb. He got one heck of a deal. It only goes up to 55lbs but that is all he can pull. I shot one yesterday at Kutch archery and it is sweet.

Mathew's Ultra 2. Can't complain one bit about it. Besides the wallet crying the day after the purchase. Glad I made the jump though.

An old Golden Circle--Jerry Johnson's brainchild. Still have lots of parts and finding a good finger bow now is like finding a Chinook in the Columbia!

Re: what kind of bow do you shoot?
I've got an origional Marlin Gonzo Safari (Ted Nugent signature bow) autographed by the man himself. I didn't buy it for that reason. I bought because of the fit and I liked the way it shot. I really liked the way it fit my hand. But, having a little piece of the "Spirit of the Wild" never hurt either.

Re: what kind of bow do you shoot?
I shoot a hoyt razortec. Really happy with it. I went from the mathews q2xl to the hoyt and am very impressed. One of the quietest and fastest bows I've ever shot. My buddy has the legacy and you can hear the difference. Hoyt is way quieter. Makes him mad.

Hoyt Magnatech. Last year was the first with it and got my deer in both Wa. & Or. So far I don't see a need for change! Although if I was looking those cam and a half's sure are purty....

Re: what kind of bow do you shoot?
Hoyt Defiant, 1995 vintage, composite limbs. Love the way it shoots, but seems kind of noisy, have had it to the shop and they haven't been able to quiet it down. I should mention that I'm on my third set of limbs, but this pair has lasted 3 years now. No, I don't shoot a super light carbon, I shoot 29 inch 2413 aluminum with 100 gr. head. No, never dry fired it either.

I shoot a PSE Baby G I bought from Broken Arrow in 98. No kills, yet so I can only call it a target bow.

Re: what kind of bow do you shoot?
Hoyt Magnatec. Love the bow, hate the dealer!!
I was up at Kutch's last Wednesday, put on a new rest. The Hoyt Tec bows have a problem with their rest mounting area, most rests don't fit without the adapter plate (from Hoyt). So, we tested a few, the one I like didn't quite fit right, so he took a hacksaw to the end of the rest bracket (the rest itself, not the bow!!). I said, well, what if I really don't like it? No problem, we'll take it off and find something else!!
Kutch's is a great place, highly reccomend it to anyone! BTW, it was the first Hoyt Cam and 1/2 Tec bow he'd worked on, I think he almost liked it

Re: what kind of bow do you shoot?
Thanks bigshark!
I bought the Drifter in 1986 and was thinking about retiring it and getting a new Blacktail Elite. But the last two years I've taken bulls on September 11th with it, so it's still treating me well! I still might order a new Blacktail, but the Brackenbury has alot of sentimental value.
Some guy up in Washington is making the Brackenbury line of bows these days. I've read they're looking better than ever. I would like to get an extra set of limbs some day.

Re: what kind of bow do you shoot?
Most of my hunting is done with a Brackenbury Drifter recurve. I also have a couple of John Strunk yew bows, and a sinew-backed Osage flatbow I made myself.

Glad to see you like great tackle. Wes Wallace, who Jim trained and worked for him making bows, was making one similair to the drifter. Last I head, Wes was still out in Beaver Creek. I mention it only because you may want some extra limbs someday for that great little piece of equipment.

Martin Fury '96 vintage. Very fast (IBO=327) and very accurate. But those hard cams are not forgiving! If I ever change bows, I would consider the Mathews solocam. Very nice to shoot.

Martin Pantera with the 'Z' cams. Still fast and more importantly accurate. I feel very comfy with this bow...had it around 7 years. Previously I had a Martin Firecat, still have it, shoots great but the limbs are shot!

I shoot a Parker ultra lite 31", I killed my buck last year with it. I like the bow but when I purchase my next bow I am going to go with a little longer bow around 35 - 36 ". I like a little more smooth bow.

Blue Mountain Razorback - I believe they are made right in Milton Freewater. It has been a great bow so far.

I bought a Martin Pride from a fellow Ifisher. I can't wait to try out the course out in Yamhill.
It's my first and I have no clue what the draw weight is or any of that.
