ODFW Budget Salem ,Fee increase!! Hearing

This is the big one!! We need lots of folks in Salem Thrus. April 24th at 1PM hearing room D. This is the hearing on the ODFW fee increase. If we want to keep the programs in fish and wildlife going please be at this meeting and let them know we are asking for the increase. We need to let the Leg. know that if they will grant this fee increase, they will be heros and we will vote for them again. At the last meeting we filled 3 hearing rooms. Jerry I won't be in town so I can't make the meeting. Is there a way to show support via email or a letter? Who would I send it to?

Great, another increase in a budget that sucks at how they manage it already. I'm all for putting money into hatcheries but I can't say ODFW has impressed me with the other decision making concerning this state. Can't say I'll ever vote for it until they have a direct fund that goes to hatcheries only and there aren't other fingers in the pot before that.

Tailchaser. I don't blame you. For your info. this fee increase is dedicated to hatcheries, game enforcement, land owner programs and field biologist. Hope you and others can and will support this. Thanks, Jerry

I agree increasing the fees is not the answer here. Our state government has increase its spending 10 billion in the last 10 years. We need to streamline and some of our programs must be cut. I hope and pray that they do not just target out hatcheries and scholls. remember propaganda will always work in a politicians scheme of things hold them accountable don't just continue to throw money their way. We need to streamline our government I think that it is in the works it will just take time.
That is my .02 worth Lets get out of the frame of mind to keep throwing them money everytime they mismanage it. Not what the majority wants to hear but my $$'s don't go far enough the way it is.

I just don't like the broad range of things that this is encompasing. I could care less about paying a buck or two, but two this year, five the next time a fishchecker's job is on the line and 10 down the road. I would like to see a detailed list of what I'm voting for and where it's going. I think we're all smarter than to believe a politician that the money in a general fund will go for a particular thing we need. I disagree with big game habitat, but agree with paying landowners access for their land, and also with hatcheries. Saving a guys job that drives around counting some deer doesn't suffice.

I'm not totally against it but until I see some accountability of where it's going I will be. If they want to zap some extra funds raise the out of state licenses. They're some of the lowest in the United States as it is. No one would care about that and hopefully limit them a little more in the woods. I must have seen 10 camps last year with all out of state licenses because everywhere else is expensive.

Just a short update. Last week our new Gov. took another 5million dollars out of ODFW budget. trust me folks he is listening to those that want to stop all logging, fishing and hunting. Are we going to stand by and let this happen. It is up to us to stand up. Do what you think is right.

and by the way I didn't vote for them the first time I doubt that will change the next time around either.
