Default Weekend

Well there goes the weekend. Looked really good for awhile but now.................... I know I know the hairy eyeball thing... but with where the warm water is and add that to the prediction and what do you have....Sh--... Lets hope the prediction tonight will change back for the better. This is getting hard to take. Maybe a little neah bay halibut will calm the nerves! To my crew that reads this it aint over yet. Still hoping for the best. Will Pm tonight or tomarrow with decision.

I was working on the baot last Saturday at Newport. The guys coming back from Halibut said that they wished they had ignored the forecast and fished tuna. The day called for 4X4 I believe.

I think we are going to give it a go. The forecast is not for big swells or building seas beyond what the wind stirs up. Gotta use the M1 eyeball I'm thinkin.

I had crew lined up, boat is ready to run, and the forecast has me thinking the same thing as Tracker.

I know the warm water isnt getting any closer, its going to take 50 miles to get into fish, When Ketas flock shows up fishing usually bites Just to much broken water out there with lots of sheep, for the fish to realize I am something special as I go by.

In a holding pattern hoping for a better forecast.

fifi might get walked, lawn might get mowed this weekend

I was looking at the surfline website just now, and the swell forecast would appear to be diminishing. Of course the trouble with forcasts is that they are just that. I'll be at Chinook doing the CR Buoy and local salmon and perhaps sturgeon. KillerBeee on 68, or hail on 16.
Fish on!

Wow monday is now looking really good. Is there any of my crew out there that could make a monday? Just a thought. Sat and sun have gotten worse since I checked it this morning. Still holding!

Dave- hold on, the weather is supposed to get lots better as the week progresses and you know they cant predict more than 2 days out with any kind of accuracy. I cant take a monday without losing a days pay, and if I could afford that Id be in mexico!! I can do any saturday or sunday though.

it will get better.

I am still in a holding mode. Really hopiung that when I wake in the morning and check the report it will be good. Really dont think I will go anywhere else so I can maybe wait till friday morning to call it either way, but I hate to ruin a guys weekend plans that late. Thats why I usually try to decide thursday morning but this weather is erratic and so harder to tell what is going on. Unfortunatley just not really in the cards for me to make the run down there to depoe to just put the hairy eye ball on it from this far away. Have to make the call with the gas the way it is. Just hope to make the right call with the best available info.

Hey tracker, its cool with me if you want to wait till friday to call it.
if your really considering monday, i might be able to swing that, but i would have to check at work before commiting.

it was nice getting away to the mountains last week.
but i would rather measure my fish in pounds as compared to inches.

You guys are all Scrooooooooed, 'cause I'm taking the weekend off (first one this year) and going to the coast. Notice I didn't say fishing 'cause you know what happens to the weather when I go down there.

I think I'll just be hanging out on the dock at Minaki and polishing the chrome but I'm still looking forward to it!

Not sure how you can pick that out from a map of that scale.

It's going to be hot in the valley this weekend and that means it's going to blow at the coast. Having fished in seas of that prediction, I think I'll pass. 40 or 50 miles and only a handful of fish. Not real productive other than the consumption of lots of fuel.

Good luck to those that are headed out.

looks like the NWS has changed their tune for saturday, falling in line with the fomoc forecast. I can't tell you how many times I have seen the NWS be different than the fomoc forecast then change it at the last minute to reflect what the fomoc forecast has been saying for days.
I'll be fishing saturday. There is still some on shore wind coming in. That will keep the clouds on the coast and therefore keeping the afternoon winds down. That is my guess anyway.
