Default Buck Deer Tags/Units

Question for you deer hunters. My buddy and I have been hunting the Ochoco unit for 6-8 years now and haven't seen or shot anything bigger than a forked horn and it get's a little discouraging not seeing any good size bucks. The 4,000+ hunters doesn't help much either. So is there a unit that we would have a pretty good chance drawing for and seeing a good buck? We don't have much vacation so we really can't spend all week out there. We love to hunt and love to get out of the vehicles and go see what we can find. We use most of our energy and vacation elk hunting, so we're looking for something that doesn't require too much time scouting and getting over there. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Spend some time around Mt. Hood or the coast getting to know whats past the end of the logging roads. There are some short hike in areas that don't see many people.

Pretty tough one to find. I think a lot of people are in the same boat and ask those questions. The only areas I know that you could draw tags consistently are the silver lake or fort rock tags. However, you won't be much better off finding a better buck than what you've found. A good chance at bigger bucks will take at least 2 points to get.
