Default Whale of a story!

This story came from a reliable friend of a friend. He was fishing south of CR on Saturday, they said they were down off Seaside. They hooked a salmon when Mr. Sealion grabbed the salmon and came all the way to the boat. After beating the fish loose from the Sealion the Sealion proceeded to try to get into the boat! Several shots to the head from the bat the Sealion was still circling the boat when a Killer whale came up and ate the Sealion! They said it was a sight to behold with blood in the water the whale finished off the Sealion. Now I know what you are all saying…. Yea right But its is a good one weather it happened or not. I believe it though.

I heard a Great White got the Sealion and then the Orca got the White...... and then this meteor came streaking down......

Just fooling. I don't think it is that unreasonable to believe that it happened. Would have made a great video.

That would have been "Killer" to see.

If I could get that to happen regularly I'd donate a few fish...

I think any Sealion that attempts to board the boat deserves a few shots of something and a bat isn't what I would recommend.

While fishing off Nehalem yesterday, we were trolling along early in the morning, when we heard the unmistaken sound of a whale blowing. Turned to look in the direction of the sound to see one of the orcas. It was feeding on something as the birds were really congregating and there was lots of activity. Funny thing was, we got our first fish just moments later and we then lost sight of the whale. But what an awesome sight! As a side note, just before heading in, we dumped what was left of our bait into the big blue, only to notice a swirl of activity a moments later. A 5-6' blue shark was hitting that bait like he hadnt eaten in a month. That too was really something as it hit that bait within a minute of that bait being inthe water, still very close to the boat. Quite a day!!!!!!

Sounds a bit different than the Oregonian story, but I like yours better. I'll bet that was a sight to see. I'll have to talk to Pom & Bruce at the mill tomarrow. Maybe we can get to the real story.
