When is turkey season anyway?
These guys have been waking me up in the morning with their gobbling...tearing up my wife's flower beds....they seem to have no fear. Don't they know I have a 12 guage in my gun cabinet?

Re: When is turkey season anyway?
I think it starts somewhere arounf April 15th. I have 17 turkeys that make 2 trips through my yard daily. Last week I looked out the window and my lab is sound asleep in the yard and the turkeys are walking not more than 3 feet from him. he never budged The neighbor feeds them so now, when they see someone, they ALL come running right up at you. Maybe I could leave a trail of feed leading in my front door and closer to the oven.....

Re: When is turkey season anyway?
Hey fellas,
I grew up in G.P. and my folks still live there. I've been trying to get my Dad out to find some turkeys but he is dragging his feet. What I would love to be able to do is take my oldest son (he's 9) out on a turkey hunt where we can stay with Grandma and Grandpa and still be close to some hunting. I'm going to do some turkey hunting during my spring bear hunt in N.E OR this May but can't pull him out of school for that (yet  ) He is really excited to go but says he wants to "watch Dad do it the first time." If you guys have a lead on some birds I would be grateful, to say the least. Let me know what you think here or email me if you've got the time.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Re: When is turkey season anyway?
Hey Mark,
closer to Jackson county, there are a lot of birds up Shale City and Lake Creek area. There's a lot of birds around GP and Glendale area too. Email me and I can give you some specific areas.

Re: When is turkey season anyway?
King Fisher, there is a lot of birds down here the last few years. I probably won't get away with getting one of the ones out of my yard though. I think it would be too traumatic for my neighbors. They still haven't gotten over the gopher incident (me, on top of an 8' ladder, shotgun in hand, in the middle of my yard with a garden hose in the gopher hole waiting for the little varmint to pop up). If you want some info on turkey hunting down here email me. I haven't done any scouting, but I could probably point you in the right direction.

RogueFisher and Fellas,
I asked you guys for info and offered my email and then today my hard drive died! (I'm at work right now  ) So if anyone emailed me I won't be able to read/reply for a couple of days. Thanks for all of the info. I appreciate it.
