Default Estuary Sturgeon (pics)

DAB (Don) and I decided to fish for sturgeon this weekend after being blown off blue the last two times out. We put in at the John Day ramp putted around for a while looking for arches On the second stop dropped in 55 ft of water then WAM in 15 minutes DAB picked up this beauty
Then within 5 minutes my pole starts bobbing I grabbed the pole set the hook and pulled this one in

An hour and half on the water and we were done I felt gratified and cheated at the same time. This DAB's 4th keeper in as many outings My first.

It is amazing that an old man like my self can still catch a sturgeon once in a while. As rp said 4th. trip 4th sturgeon. The last three trips the boat has limited out on sturgies.
Here is a tip. If you have a fish finder learn how to use it in the ARCH mode, and look for the fish, once you figure it out you wont be fishing blind. Which will increase your odds on catching a sturgeon.
