anyone have any leftover pelts/fur????
I was curious if anyone on here has/or is willing to part with certain types of fur/feathers. I'm a fly tyer, and am looking for certain types of mallard flanks, widgeon, any type of bear, etc. Let me know what you have and what you want for it. If you want, can trade flies for fur. I'm a salmon/steelhead fly tyer, so mostly looking for materials for that. Want to do my own custom dyeing, so want to get some materials I can play with.
Thanks

I froze some mallard wings this year, in case someone wanted them for fly tying. i also have a wood duck drake, and a hooded merganser drake frozen. I decided not too mount them, but they were both beautiful birds. They are your s if you want them.

It is edited out probably because of those letters between the S's.

Re: anyone have any leftover pelts/fur????
Thanks everyone. I really didn't expect such a response. Actually, I don't need much in deer hide/elk hide right now. I have a mule deer cape I'm supposed to pickup, and an elk cape downstairs. I'm mostly looking for deer tails right now. Thanks anyways Pdxkevin. But, if you have a time you'll be up in the area, I'd gladly take you out (once I'm healed anyways, can't row my boat right now). Hmmmm, actually, maybe I'd still take it. Once you come up, bring it on a trip. I could keep in my freezer until I needed. But offer stands, once I'm healed, can take you down some of the local steelhead rivers.
Can't use the raccoon (unless it's an albino white one). I have about 6 pelts, but can only use the white parts. Great for tying, but won't take a dye really well except black.
Corlyn, you have alot of what I need. I want the drakes and merganeser. Even widgeon is prefered as well. I don't need much in wings dept, but can use most of it down the road. Let me know what you'd want for it, and I'll gladly pay, or send you some flies or such in exchange. The grouse feathers would work great too. I could also use the rabbit too. Email me, and let me know. I do appreciate this. If you don't fly fish, I'll send jigs or something for your kindness. Let me know. Thanks

Re: anyone have any leftover pelts/fur????
Thanks for the offer, it would be a lot of fun to see how it is really done.
I beleive that the tail is still attached to the hide.

Re: anyone have any leftover pelts/fur????
Hey SH69,
I still have a few beaver pelts and a few nutria that I would be willing to part with from trapping season. Give me an email, maybe we can cut a trade. (Maybe you could trade me a couple of inches of Polar bear )
Let me know if you're interested.
Aaron

Re: anyone have any leftover pelts/fur????
Im brand new at tying too, (see the Fly forum for some pics of my new projects), and need to build up a small feather and fur collection. I'd be happy with any useable remnants you may have. Anyone going out for Spring turkey, want to part with a tail feather or two? Thank you all.

Re: anyone have any leftover pelts/fur????
I got an elk hide you can have, and every fall I have access to at least a half dozen deer hides and 2 or 3 elk hides. I hate to see these wasted but I don't know enough fly tyers to utilize that much fur. I am a fly-tyer myself.

Sorry all, been pretty worn out and on weird sleeping schedules due to my PT and drugs DR's have me on. Will get back to each and every one of you to get these things straightened out. Thanks. Jerry
