Default THE TIP HOT LINE ON POACHING

The other my wife and i was seating the the living room when we heard a shot it came the field above us and just the night before the elk had been feeding in the same field like they do ,so I went out side to see flash light in the same field the elk had been feeding in , so i call the ODFW AND T.I.P. HOTLINE which they took the information that i could give and by no surprize nobody called me back and nobody showed up .This has been the case for sometime i called on snaggers and more snaggers so the next time i see anything fishy or fur getting it,i won't drop a dime . What do we pay these people for i guess to sit and take information.

What I would want to do and what I could do are two different things. I would want to spray the field with a 50 caliber, while they were gutting thier illegal elk. With the economy the way it is I believe we will see more of this, unfortunatly.

Instead of complaining here, why don't you walk up to see if there's a gut pile, then call the hotline again to find out what was done about your previous call? Doesn't sound like you even know if an elk was taken or not, which may help explain the lack of response.
My own experience is that the State Patrol takes this stuff seriously and will hammer anyone caught with a poached elk.
For that matter, there are some controlled elk hunts on the coast that last well into March. I don't have the regs in front of me, but it may have been a legally harvested animal. Are you sure the season is closed in that area?

not at 12am its not open and yes i know there is seasons open this time of the year but the fact is the where stiil there at dark , you can't tell me that you wouldn't have called them too. this is the reason i'll never call the odfw on a poaching or snagging again, because they just don't care and neither do i any more . I have lost all faith in OREGON STATE FISHING AND WILDLIFE OFFICERS. And it seem that you don't care if your wildlife is taking out of season and at night do you! The last time i looked in the reg books there was no season at mid night.
so if you don't care i don't either!
