Default OK fess up, who has?

How many of you have already been springer fishing this year? Being early and all, was wondering if I have been the only crazy one. I had springer for dinner last night. It is sure nice to have such a good table fare as it is, man that springer is good. To bad it was my last chunk of last years springer. Anyway, I have been once so far. Water is pretty cold...........Bobber Down

I am waiting for any report of a springer being caught or crossing a dam. Then I will be out springer fishing.

Time Off was kind enough to take me Sturgeon fishing today. When we got to the first hole there was still a little outgoing current before tide change. I put on a California Watermelon and tried a new scent until the tide started coming in. Does that count?

Good call Ty...there's PLENTY of time for Springers.........and there are still a FEW steelhead around

It's amazing to me that there will be a bunch of boats out in Feb. and by the middle of May I've got the river to myself!! Except that I have to deal with those darn Shad fisherman

Besides, there's one more weekend to hassle the local DUCKS!!!

Dwayne,

Go back to work and quit getting yourself all worked up. You know it will still be a few weeks before you get that first fish.............

Jerry Nemer is credited for taking the first springer last year, a 19 1/4-pound chromer he caught on January 11th, 2003 on a plug-cut herring. He's out there again in the area of the Sellwood bridge, trolling as he has successfully in the past in hopes of taking the first spring chinook of 2004 as well.

How 'bout that 16-pound Clackamas-bound bloodstock steelhead caught by a plunker on Sunday? That's a pretty nice reward and the same guy (or someone next to him) might hook that elusive first springer.

Ya gotta love an optimistic fisherman.

The gill nets operating on the Columbia are reporting a few "incidental" springers in their sturgeon haul, so it won't be long ....

Isn't that the truth wreckless.

Just like when bouy 10 heats up people are foaming out the mouth racing each other out their like it's the Bass Masters Classsic and we'd hit monster sturgeon all to ourselves
