Default Goose Shooting Hours?

So what time do those guys have to stop shooting geese? We want to know the skinny. They're augered into some tavern claiming how many geese they shot for each other.

Lets hear it.

Geez Mark, I had to carry the whole line, shooting and calling. Dave Smith had laryngitis, which is why I had to do the calling, and Brad Cochran took off to get his picture taken by Bill Monroe's photographer and never came back, so there we were. You can imagine how bewildered everyone was. But luckily I had brought my Model 12 and a Lohman flute. Actually it was my elk bugle, but I tweaked the reed and did some mighty fine calling, if I say so myself. And the shooting? The stuff of legends!

Now I suspect when the boys sober up ...er..uh...get their gear sorted out, there will probably be those who contest what I just said, but who ya gonna believe? The media?(Bill Monroe) Rauly? Gun Rod Bow? Lured In? I don't think so.

Go with the guy you can trust.

Several of 'em got lost trying to get to the blinds (you know who you are) and we had to push GRB's quad back to the truck. The only stars were the photographer (he got fire flying from MY barrel) and Lured-In, who made a couple of nice retrieves. Rauly gets honorable mention as "Mule of the Season."

All in all, we're lucky to be alive!

...And that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Sounds about right. Hopefully they'll get their "gear" all sorted out and tell us their version of the hunt. Not that it will differ from yours greatly I'm sure.

Take Care,

Mark

Skein is right...he was the MAN...the main GUY...the one with the, umm..., "flute," that everyone made him go to the end of the line and use...Accurate accounts to come, if not tonight, certainly after I get a little sleep...maybe a lot.

There are photos in this site somewhere, Steve said. I did hear some snoring from Skein's blind, which may, indeed, be his equivalent of a blazing barrel...

Wasn't it Skein who asked for the cigarette for two? Would have been more birds to clean if Rauly would have shot. And yes, those decoys were first class.

Wow, I thought they were more like $325. Let's see, I counted 80 in that spread they set up for us. That's about $3,900 worth of decoys sitting out there. Maybe I better hold off until that Nigerian guy actually posts that million bucks to my bank account.

Those weren't just decoys though, were they? They were art!

Nosiree, no cigarettes for this fat boy. The only thing smoking in my blind was my gun barrel. I did help pass down smokes, chew, imitation chew, imitation smokes, jerky, pepperoni, weaner-sticks, and coffee cups. You guys that brought that stuff - thanks! It was delicious, and we probably need some recipes posted. (hint, hint)

Geez, guys, wasn't that a fun day! How come it's over. :depressed:

We gotta do this again next year. And you can bet I'm gonna get some of those decoys. They are incredible!

Some of you guys up and down the line were pretty good callers too. Man, I need to get better. Dave and Brad frisked me before I got on the line and made me take my call back to the truck and leave it. I'd of had a better chance of smuggling a pistol on an airplane than getting one of my calls out in that lineup.

Too much fun!

Skein
