Drag problem with my baitcasting reel

I have a Shimano CR1000 baitcasting reel. All of a sudden the drag doesn't work on it. :whazzup: I can almost cast with the drag all the way tight. I have not opened the reel up yet. I wanted to know if anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it. The reel is only two years old and used less than 25 times.

Remove the nut that holds the handle. See if the small snap ring is missing, broken or slipped out of place. If that is not the case, I would get someone competent to help with your concern. Shimano's tend to be among the more diffult reels to reassemble correctly.

I took it apart today, just taking off the star and washers, wiped them off, and put it back together. It works!
