Default Waterfowl Festival

I was told that there was this show in St. Helens that was purely waterfowl. Does anyone have specifics and opinions on this "Festival"?

Check out the refuge site. http://www.duckhunter.net/ I think. Then go to the Oregon page and they can tell you a lot more about it. I think that it is in June and they have it at the St Helens fair grounds it should be fun for all.

Here is the website to check out

June 21 and 22.

Dan, I was also looking for opinions as to whether this event was worth going to. What's yours?

If I was having open heart surgery I would have them do it on the fair grounds that weekend so that I could be there for it. The people that you meet there will increase your bird/per season by 10%. The seminars, calling and just a good time by all. It is worth going to.

Crashin,

It is worth going to. You get to see how good duck callers sound. Same for geese( see the kid and Mr. Smith). Labs, boats, guns, Chessies, camo, all of it. 2 days of nothing but ducks and such.

Oh yeah, do not bring the checkbook. Too many puppies and cool calls and such.

Mark and the dog.

Crashin,

The festival is well worth the effort. The date for this years festival is June 21-22. Great calling contests and vendors to show you the latest in Waterfowl technique and equipment.
Start saving now to make sure your wallet is nice and fat. You can't help but spend money. Last year the duck competition was Saturday followed by the Goose on Sunday. MC'd by Tim Grounds ! Saturday night was a great BBQ complete with beer garden and music. Music compliments of Keith Allen(AKA "Refugeman") who makes Pureduck duck calls. The whole event was a blast! Make plans to be there.

Thee Keith Allen? A buddy told me that he had a "refuge" feeding chuckle that was awesome.

Any idea as to which call makers will be there this year?
