Default Dog Dies

Already this summer one dog had died (last year 3 or 4 as well) after swimming in the John Day River near Priest Hole. Got this information this evening from a friend who works for the BLM in Prineville. Samples of the water have been sent to the lab to confirm that it's probably a type of blue-green algae that's the culprit. Even tho the water is currently very clear and I haven't observed any blooms, the danger does exist. This would explain why my Vizsla Ryker was feeling poorly a good part of last summer. I don't know how that I'm going to keep the Piscatorial Pointer from contacting the water, but since he survived, perhaps he's obtained some immunity; will have to check with the vet and other sources.
So as Phil Esterhaus would caution, "Hey! Let's be careful out there".

Default Re: Dog Dies

Thank BuKaBass for the heads up .
I found out that the water line on my camper never had the clamp tighten down on the water pump . Hard to figure out how it lasted this long without leaking . It is fixed and working once again .
