Re: Westside Bucketheads Lunch
If the group would like to meet on the water some time we could work on our fishing skills! Lacamas lake from shore is a good place (early). This could be on the weekend too!
Just my 2 cents. I have done over 100 seminars and I could help you with a few things (just ask sandz). I do not know every thing, I will never know every thing. One thing I have found is that learning the fish is more important than learning all the lures. fish locations and why and when is a much bigger question. Once you know the location of the bass you can catch them and you do not wast so much time fishing water with few bass!

Re: Westside Bucketheads Lunch
Sounds great to me Roger. Lacamas Lake works for me most weekdays or weekend and I enjoy getting on a lake early.
Do you have any suggestions about fishing the Lower Columbia (below Scappoose) for LM this time of year? After reading a F&H News article on this subject that said the LM greatly outnumber the SM in this area, I went out Monday and fished the mouth area of Cunningham Slough and then across the river to the west mouth area of Bachelor Island Slough.
I fished structure and grass lines with a Zara Spook early, then mostly dark natural senkos (very colored water) and a little spinner bait action (chartreuse). I fished shaded downed tree structure in the afternoon.
After 8 hours, I managed to land one small and very surprised crappie. I didn't even detect a single pickup. The tide was incoming the first 4 hours and outgoing the second 4.
Any ideas? I'd sure like to figure out this Lower Columbia LM fishery!

Re: Westside Bucketheads Lunch
Sandz,
It's not that kind of place. Minors welcome & they serve lemonade for you youngsters. Besides I'm dieing for good Britney burger. Per, I can pick ya up if your rig is still in the shop.
Bucketheads,
Lets do it NEXT Thursday and move it up to 11:30-1pm.
I would suggest a Senko swap but after my Snake River trip I don't have much to offer. :depressed:
I need to put in an order to Brett @ Alluring Baits for more.
I was thinking that maybe we could split up bags of 50 and swap favorite patterns and just generally add to our colors. I'll get an order into Brett and I'm pretty sure he can get'em here by next week. Anyone else need any and afraid of online purchases? I'm going to break out this subject onto a new thread, so don't reply back here about the Senko order
Anyone know where to get red & Chartruse "Spike it"?? (Shalom???) Might be fun to dip some. Try this.. throw chartruse and pumkinseed in the same bag and the chartruse ones turn more brown for a slightly subdued, not so bright, green.

Hmmm. That may be a little too far on a work day. I'll have to see how my calendar shapes up this week. Hope I can make it.

Re: Westside Bucketheads Lunch (THIS Thursday!!)
Remember lunch this Thursday. 11:30am to 1pm
Cedarhills McMennimens on Jenkins Rd by WINCO.
Dragon67, sleeping is no excuse!
Hookjaw, Hope ya can make it. The next one we'll do in the evening to try and mix it up.
Sandz & EBG, the senko order arrived! Remember to bring that "spike it". I'll bring some extra zip-lock bags if any one would like to buy some. I can always order more! 10ct/$2 or 25ct/$4. I got most of the good colors in 3" & 4" sizes.
Bring your Senko collections and we'll swap colors.

WT I need to pick your brain on these Lower river Walleye. I have the boardman and John day areas down. But this lower river whips me.

Re: Westside Bucketheads Lunch (Today!!) w/ MAP
Yes, I thought things went well.
Let me see... we had: Sandz, ExBassGuide, Bassin, TroutHunter, ATower, Bettlespin, & myself WalleyeTracker
We'll have to do this again, perhaps an Eastside gathering/
So what do you think the "normal" people there thought about us "Bucketheads"?
The "Fish In" ought'a be fun too.
W.Tracker
