I took a good friend and his new wife out fishing today. My friends wife had never fished for steelhead. The day started slow, cold and she wasnt getting the hang of side drifting, I dont think she was having much fun. About 3/4 the way through out float I hook up and hand her the rod. She fights the fish almost to the boat and it spits the hook

By now it had warmed up a bit and she was getting the side drifting down. Shortly after loosing the first fish of the day, she hooks one by herself and it comes right off

Not too long after that her hubby nails a nice fat chromer!

Woo hoo! a fish in the boat. Things are looking better. The very next spot we hit the newly weds both hook fish at the same time!! DOUBLE!! Things got a little crazy for a few minutes, Lines being crossed fish running around the boat, fast current, newbie with a hot fish, you get the picture. When it was all over we had both fish in the boat!! 3 in the box, 3 to go!!! We keep fish our way down the river and my friends wife hooks and lands her second fish.

We also hooked a couple morethat cam unbuttoned Then I finally get one
Totals for the day 9 hooked 5 landed. 1 double and a newbie tags out on her first trip! Now if I would have just got my secnd fish the day would have been perfect.
I really need to get a digital camera....
