Yeah, the old locks are a really good place to start. I was shad fishing there back in june and watched a Russian guy hook into what I thought was just a big shad. Actually it was 25-30" native metalhead. He just couldn't understand why that fish had to go back. I think he was mad at me

Anyway, all he was doin was drifting yarn, three hooks rigged about like codfish described, except all we had on was flourecent green yarn.
