Hey, Bill Monroe, NICE ARTICLE !

I was at EE Wilson last Saturday for the Paralyzed Veterans rabbit hunt put on by the Mary's Peak Hounds Club. It's the one advertised in the regs. There were 9 'chaired hunters, plus a couple of hunters who were ambulatory but just barely, and lots of helpers and friends. There were also no protesters.

Along one wall of the hall where we had lunch (also provided by the Hounds Club) one of the club's handlers had posted as many articles and commentaries as he could find about the "other" hunt - the one for women and kids - the one that almost got canceled.

The best article in the bunch was the one by Bill Monroe. He called it for what it was, yet never got belligerent or did it in a way that demonized anyone, not the protester, not the ODFW, and not the angry and frustrated hunters.

He did it ten times as good as I could have.

Bill, my hat is off to you. Thanks.

What responses? I've gone thru today's Oreg. but find mostly space shuttle letters, no hunting letters. :whazzup:

Thanks for the links Birdhunter. Those were good letters, esp. TR's. We must get a different edition of the paper down here because there was nothing in my copy yesterday about the hunt. :whazzup:
