Default Backstop for arrows

I was wondering if anyone knows of some netting I could get my hands on for a arrow backstop.

I saw some used at a bow shoot at the fairgrounds in Corvallis one time and was wondering what kind of material it was and if it would be affordable.

You might try an old piece of carpeting? I've seen that used before, for behind the actual target. But who misses the target? Right!

If i miss the target I always hit the bales of hay right behind it. But I would just feel better if I had a larger backstop as well.

The carpet sounds like a good idea. If it was hung and the bottom was left free it would absorb alot of the energy.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Compressed ceder bales work well, but are heavy. I have a reusable target that is made from a kevlar matt behind a screen. It was spendy, but it has lasted me seven years now.
