Closer to Garibaldi is Camp Magruder lake which has very healthy trout.

Lytle lake is the one with the dock you can walk out on by the go-carts... The one by Camp Magruder is either Smith or Ocean lake.

There is also Spring Lake as you're heading south of Rockaway, but I'm not sure if it is open to fishing.
Good luck wherever you end up!

Ummm... make that by the condos, where the go-carts used to be.
I have taken the kids over there a few times with no success. Seems like the local hot spot on Lytle is by the road; it is easy to identify because it has the people sitting in lawn chairs a foot from the white line. No thanks.

Lake Lytle is the lake north of town and it has 2 docks to fish from and a boat launch. It has LM bass and planter and some nice carry over trout. Spring lake is south of town by the go carts and I've never fished it due to access.

Atta boy Steve, I'm glad you straightened that out for them
Now that we've touched it let's see how long it takes for this thread to die

Last couple of times I fished Lytle I didn't have much luck. The first year I fished it, (three years ago?) it was really fun. Lots of trout!

Now, it's very weedy and very shallow, and it seems late summer isn't the best time. Of course, early summer wasn't any good either.

I've yet to find a good planted trout fishery... or maybe I just go at the wrong times.

Lake Lytle is the first lake on the left as you come southbound on 101 it is stocked in early spring with trout. After April the water gets too warm to stock any more. The next lake is Spring Lk then the last lake to the right of 101 is Smith. Same story with these two lakes. Jennie, The most recent lake stockings close to you are Coffenbury Lk and Cape Meares Lk. These were each stocked in June with 1lb trout. Hope this helps
