Default Photographer for Senior Pictures?

I can't believe I'm at the point in my life when I'm preparing to graduate our oldest child from high school. Nonetheless, here I am looking ahead at the next ten months, wondering how much it's going to cost me. Right now I'm looking for recommendations for a photographer in the Gresham area for senior pictures - reasonably priced, decent quality, etc. etc. Any help here?

Thanks,

CrF

The last 3 to graduate used one of the quick outfits in the mall. Great prices and plenty of options. Can't go wrong in my eye's.

Did I realy say 3? Man I getting old.

You might contact EdSr on ifish. He has a photography shop in downtown PDX.

Or if you are cheap like I was, I took all of my kids graduation pictures. I took them to their favorite place and took at least two rolls of film with different poses and outfits. Play with lens settings and special effects. You are bound to get some good ones. Film is cheap and then have a developer like Wolf Camera develop and play with them some more. All three turned out great and we got more compliments on them than I would have ever thought. The oldest one was the hardest to convince but after they started looking through all the prints they had a hard time deciding which ones they liked best.

Chrome, Capt. Hook has it right. You don't need a fancy camera, just take 'em to a nice location and take a few rolls of film. Remember to fill the frame, too many people take pics that are 80% back ground. Don't hesitate to get close....A few close-ups just might be "the shot". Experiment, have fun with it. If they refuse to go this route, make them PAY... Just kidding, kinda.

The Mall route is a good one and there are photographers around that won't charge you an arm & a leg.

I taught high school photography/yearbook for 10+ years and some great senior photos were taken by the kids!

Give it a try!

First off, congrats to you and your oldest!!

Ahhh...the days of Senior pictures. The summer before my senior year, my parents kept hounding me about senior pictures. When was I gonna get them, who were we gonna go to, etc. I waited and waited, and finally screwed around so long that I wound up not even getting them (i'm a wee bit of a procrastinator  ) I still tell my parents they owe me big for saving them $500

Next, you'd better be thinking about the thousands upon thousands of $$'s that you're gonna spend over the next few years on college!! That's a lot of fishing and hunting equipment you won't be buyin' Kerry...

That's what the military is for.

Thanks for the input, Aaron!

I second the reccomendation to go to the place in the mall. We had family portraits done there recently, and they came out great.
