Buddy Caught a 1426lb Black Marlin (Pics Coming)

Anyone out there fish heavily for these. I did a little research and the world record is 1560 lbs, and 1426 is the largest ever taken out of Cabo, Mexico where he boated the fish...

The key question is, What's a fish like this worth???

I don't know, Keith...are they spawners at that size??? If so, did he release it? Doubtful, considering the exact weight quoted.

To me it would be worth a lifetime of effort, and memories!

Wow.

Thats a marlin of a lifetime.

There are quite a few granders (1,000+) marlin caught in the summer months in Kona, Hawaii.

Most of the large black marlin are found in south pacific.

Thats an enourmous black Marlin. Marlin that big are all females. Females that big are breeders. She was likely between 10 and 15 years old. And she produced as much as 100 million eggs each time she bred.
