Great photograph, Just check out those eyes! I've been watching these magnificent creatures for a ton of years while fishing the Oregon Cascade lakes, but every time they appear, I forget about fishing for a while, and just stare. On a still morning an osprey will be scanning the lake for a wounded or unsuspecting kokanee, dive down, snag the prey, and head for her nest. Out of nowhere appear a pair of "lightening bolts", a mated pair of bald eagles working in perfect harmony give chase. I've seen two complete revolutions around Odell Lake expire before the overmatched and harassed osprey finally surrenders her prize to the eagles. No harm done, with her own great speed and hunting skill it's easier just go fishing again. The amazing thing is before the chases take place, there are no signs of the eagles. They're sitting quietly on top of a giant pine tree, probably a couple of miles away, patiently observing with those piercing eyes! What better symbol to represent our great country and people could there be?

I would like to think that our country is well symbolized by the eagle for the times that baldies are not kicking back and stealing from smaller and weaker birds.
Personally I like the example of the eagle swooping and catching a fish for itself.
Perhaps it's all too much anthropomorphism. Eagles will be eagles.
