Default Antler rattler who was shot

On the fishing board under the title "Feel Good Day on the Alsea" there is an update on the young hunter who was shot while rattling antlers. Many of you probably remember the post during rifle season. I remember how sick I felt when I read the story but it made me feel good to see him out there catching a steelhead 1 handed......check it out.

I just got done reading all of the origional posts about how nicholas was "accidently" shot! I could add to what others said about the stupidity of the shooter but it has already been said. I think nicholas's story is amazing. He must be one of the toughest strongest people on earth not just to survive his wounds but to have the determination to get back out there in the outdoors and continue doing things he loves. That picture of him with the fish says it all. I take my hat off to you nicholas! your amazing

Its good to see Nick up and going at it again. It looks like he's getting alot of support form family and friends. A determined and game young man.

Nick is one of my best friends and a true fishing partner. Those three guys and me went fishing nearly everyday up until this year. Its not the same on the river anymore. He has been laid up for three months and I don't think anyone has had as great of day fishing as he did last friday. I never realized there was a post on him in the hunting forum. I was reading it and one thing that was never mentioned was that he was hunting and shot on his own property. But Im so happy he is able to get out and fish again. And looking foward to see him catch many more steelies this winter.

I was wondering if anyone could post a link the information related to Nicholas. I was nearly sick as well when I heard of this tragedy, and now that he was shot on his own property shames me even more. One bad apple spoils the bunch. We as sportspersons can not allow incidents such as these to happen. There is no excuse! My heart would truly smile to see Nicholas on the river enjoying a quiet drift. That man has extreme courage and strength!

Do a search with key word rattlin in the hunting community. Key word, feel good day on the alsea in the fishing community. I don't think we've heard the last from or about Nick, or "Petey" as his boys call him.
