I spoke with Dave today and he allowed me to add a few more hunters to the list. There are now 17 hunters on the list. Numbers 13 - 17 I am still waiting for your deposits. I have made contact with all of you by e-mail or phone today so the ball is in your court. After Saturdays mail I will continue down the waiting list and you will loose your spot. We still have quite a few on the waiting list. If you don't think you can get to me by mail drive it out. Contact me by e-mail and I'll give you directions. I will be duck hunting on Sat. but you can leave it at my door. If you guys have any questions don't hesitate to contact Get Bit or myself. I will update this thread as deposits come in.
1/22/03
OK this is the paid to date list.
Get Bit is sending me the e-mails he recieved requesting any open slots. I will put them with the e-mails I recieved and the date and times of e-mails will determine the order of slot availability. There are 3 open spots. I will e-mail you if you are next in line. I will need a reply within 24 hrs. and a deposit within 48 hrs. Everyones checks arrived within one day so this should not be a problem.

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
My deposit will go out in tomorrow's mail, but with the holiday on Monday, it will most likely not get there in time.
I guess my participation will depend on when you check your mail on Tuesday. Hope I don't lose out.

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
So Get Bit's a good retriever, eh? Does he do blind retrieves? Maybe we could just leave the bindfold on while he's shooting....
Looking forward to the hunt.

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
I sure hope GB is force fetched. I don't want any of my birds coming back all chewed up.
Should I bring my ecollar just in case he gives us a refusal?

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
Got your e-mail Steeliehunter but there was no check attached. I'll wait til tomorrow.
Skein & Lured In Get Bit is so well trained it is almost unbelievable. He will go out on blinds and turn and give you the sign. He does have a good nose though.
The Force Fetch story is a little different. So far he has been Forced The Fetch part we are still working on. Bring the collar and I'll bring the hot dog treats. He'll do anything for one of those. I am a little worried that he may not be in good enough shape to retrieve all of our birds.

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
Rauly there is still time to work on his fitness. Simply put his pinch collar on him and tie him to the hitch and do a couple laps around the block.
(I imagine that this is what you see in your review mirror)
I would say no less than 3 times a week until the hunt. That should take care of it.

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
Skein, any hits on the car pooling for the hunt? If not, do you want to tag along with me, I am heading north from Junction City.

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
Northriver1,
Sure, sounds great. I haven't had any takers on the carpooling, but I haven't pushed it either. I was just waiting for the list to solidify. But riding with you suits me just fine.
Just tell me where you want to meet. If you go out to I-5, I can meet you at the Hwy 34 park-and-ride, or....

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
Hey guys just a heads up on the carpooling. Dave and I won't know where the hunt will be until the day before. We've hunted from Eugene to Forest Grove and everywhere in between. I can say it will likely be within a half hour of Corvallis but the geese will ultimately decide where we will hunt. I may post a tentative location on friday the 28th but it won't be a sure deal til sundown of saturday the 1st. I look forward to meeting everyone! This is gonna be a great time!

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
I live in Sherwood and have room for a couple of people, and gear, in the pickup or would accept a ride if you are coming my way. Either way I am looking forward to the adventure.

I'll be leaving from the Beaverton area, and would have several open seats, or be interested in finding one.

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
Would this be an appropriate time to mention that I have a Ithica Mag 10 for sale?
It's about 20 years old, works great.
I used to hand load 2oz nickel plated lead #1s back in the old days. I used it a little for geese with steel shot but find when laying out I can shoot quicker with my 12 gauge.
It's a killer for shooting out of a blind.
Any interest? Offers?

Re: IFish Goose Hunt Official List
WRO...no slingshots, but I have a custom made, double barrell, back bored and ported (stainless), composite camo stock.....
Spit ball shooter.
Courtesy of my 8 year old. It has a muzzle velocity of roughly 20fps and an effective sticking range of about 15 feet with enough air.
